Child Support
In New Hampshire, child support are arrived at by using a child support guideline worksheet. Both parties' incomes as well as the number of children are used to calculate the amount of support. Child support statute does allow that under certain defined circumstances, the court can deviate from the guidelines and order a different amount. Many people believe that if parents have approximately equal parenting time then there will be no child support ordered, this is simply not the case. While in certain limited circumstances there may be little or no child support ordered with a shared residential schedule, in most cases there is an award of child support.
